We are thrilled to announce Amanda Eaton as this year’s KitsFest Artist in Residence. An Ottawa-based high school art teacher by day and a dedicated artist by night, Amanda is a self-proclaimed lifelong learner whose creative practice is fueled by exploration and a love of mixed media.
This year’s KitsFest poster pays homage to iconic Kitsilano Beach and to the 50th anniversary of the “Endless Summer” art piece. Amanda’s art piece is an original and this commissionable artist continues to evolve and work on hundreds of select art endeavours.
Working primarily with acrylics and watercolours, her abstract work is a dynamic conversation of mark-making and colour. Inspired by contemporary artists like Flora Bowley and Rex Ray, Amanda embraces the fluid, ever-evolving nature of abstraction, finding joy in its endless challenges .
We are excited to have her unique artistic voice as part of this year’s festival poster.
